MAKE DISCIPLES WHO CAN MAKE DISCIPLES
Our mission at Del View comes from Matthew 28 where Jesus tells his disciples, "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit." This means the kingdom of heaven is HERE and NOW! Every believer has been appointed by Christ to be a reflection of who He is to the world. As we grow closer to Him, our lives should bear fruit. Fruit is two life streams coming together to yield what is eternal. We own that we have been given the purpose of investing our Christ-given life in others to yield eternal fruit through making disciples. This is Jesus's A-Game and the vehicle he created to move His kingdom forward!
Making disciples is a highly intentional and relational endeavor requiring each believer to lay down their life for their brothers and sisters. In 2 Timothy 2:2 the Word instructs us to invest in reliable men who will go and teach others. Here, Paul paints a picture of disciple-making that is more than a class or a check box. It is the kind of long-term investment Jesus made when He invited 12 men into His life for 3 years. Furthermore, Paul is describing a Church culture encompassing 4 generations of Disciple-Makers: 1) Paul, 2) Timothy, 3) Timothy's "reliable men", and 4) The "others" those reliable men teach. At Del View, we aim to see 4 generations of believers Making Disciples (MD4 for short). It is our conviction that generations of disciples are foundational to seeing a kingdom movement in our city like the one Jesus started in the Word. The men and women in our OIKOS (Church Family) endeavor to imitate Christ's model by inviting people into a life-on-life investment where they will be equipped with the tools to effectively make disciples. DAKOTA PALOMINO
Dakota and Maddie Palomino were married on October 9th, 2022 before setting down roots in Midwest City, OK. Dakota was installed as the Lead Pastor at Del View in September 2022, after the Lord birthed a deep compassion in him for the community of Del City. Dakota and Maddie believe that too often believers' faith comes to hinge on the Pastor and not on Jesus Christ. They are passionate about equipping each and every believer with the tools to be able to hear the voice of the Lord for themselves. Dakota was ordained by Brown to Green Global Ministries, and graduated from the University of Oklahoma with his Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. He currently works as a Human Resources Director. Maddie works as a Registered Behavior Technician doing therapy with children on the Autism Spectrum.
