oik·os
[oy'-kos] Greek noun
________________________________________________________________________
Literally, a physical building or home.
Metaphorically, the family of God or the community of believers. In ancient Greek and Jewish culture, the "oikos" was a central unit of society. It encompassed not only the immediate family but also extended family members, servants, and sometimes even close friends. In Jewish tradition, the household was also a place of religious instruction and practice, with the family playing a crucial role in the transmission of faith and values.

The story of God's people has been about two overarching themes from the very beginning: COVENANT and KINGDOM. His covenant is an invitation into a deeper relationship with him. His kingdom is a challenge to accept the responsibility of being an example of who He is to the world. The goal of OIKOS Ministry is twofold: 1) Foster the development of spiritual family on a church-wide scale and 2) Spur the Body of Christ on to reach the lost.
